On December 29, 2023, Apesokubi witnessed a momentous event with the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of an ultra-modern educational facility at R/C B Primary School. The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Richard Baafi, the visionary founder of the Africa Centre for Education and Community Development (ACECD), alongside the Apesokubi Traditional Council, led by Chief Nana Okogyiaman Asiedu Koram III and his esteemed elders.
The ambitious project, fully funded by ACECD’s generous donors, will see the construction of a new three-classroom block with ancillary facilities, including a canteen and kitchen. Additionally, an ten-seater WC will be provided to enhance the school's sanitation facilities. The renovation of the existing R/C B Primary School block will further improve the learning environment for the students.
In his address, Rev. Fr. Baafi emphasized the critical importance of providing a conducive environment for learning. He highlighted that such facilities are instrumental in helping students achieve academic success and grow into responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities and the nation at large.
Chief of Apesokubi Traditional area, Nana Okogyiaman Asiedu Koram III, in his remarks, expressed profound gratitude for ACECD’s longstanding support to the community. He acknowledged the transformative impact of the organization’s projects and reaffirmed the traditional council’s commitment to supporting ACECD in future developmental initiatives. He also called on the community members to actively participate and assist in the building of these new educational facilities.
The community's involvement was evident as locals came together to clear the land, facilitating the commencement of the project. This collaborative spirit underscores the strong partnership between ACECD and the Apesokubi community.
This initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing the educational infrastructure in Apesokubi and reflects the shared dedication to fostering a brighter future for the next generation.
